Refugee Tales III including The Embroiderer's Tale

On 27th June 2019, the week following Refugee Week, Comma Press will publish 'Refugee Tales: Volume III', the third collection in our series Refugee Tales edited by Anna Pincus & David Herd, in partnership with their charity Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group.

Featuring author retellings of the lives of those affected by indefinite detention, including tales by Bernardine Evaristo, Ian Sansom, David Constantine, Patrick Gale, Monica Ali, Abdulrazak Gurnah, Lytton Smith and more.

One of these stories is 'The Embroiderers Tale' by acclaimed, West Country based author Patrick Gale, a retelling of the story of a detained refugee who fell in love with an Embroiderer in his home country and, when moved to England after having betrayed his own religion for such love, became an embroiderer himself.
