Dorset Day 2017

Dorset Day 2017

About 95 members from across the Dorset groups met to chat, share see the various demonstrations as well as do a little retail therapy.  We enjoyed a good lunch followed by a talk from the chief executive of the Royal School of Needlework, Dr Susan Kay-Williams entitled Imperial Purple to Denim Blue, which detailed the history and influence of dyeing and colour in textiles.

We also viewed the rainbow of flowers stitched especially for the day by Wimborne group and we felt it needed to be seen by more people and so it will be part of the forthcoming exhibition at Craft4Crafters in April.

Our thanks go to the Wimborne & District group who organised a really good day for us and raised over £200 for the local Food Bank.
