The Annual General Meeting for West Country Embroiderers takes place on Saturday 19th October 2019 at King Edward VI Community College, Ashburton Road, Totnes TQ9 5JX
Our speaker for the afternoon is Sandra Meech and the title of her talk is ‘Art and Stitch Journeys' and includes a variety of work inspired by her move to Somerset and some of The Polar work.
Threads at the Grand - Purbeck WCE group's annual exhibition is being held at the Grand Hotel, Swanage from 18th - 22nd September.
Cheriton Bishop group are running a coach to the Knitting and Stitching show at Alexandra Palace on Thursday 10th October and there are seats available

Refugee Tales III is the retelling by authors of the lives of some of those who have sought asylum here. This edition includes the Embroiderer's Tale as told by Cornish author Patrick Gale. Saleem, a tailor in his own country, falls in love with an embroiderer, converts to Christianity and subsequently has to flee his country. He arrives in England as a refugee and eventually becomes an embroiderer himself. It is published on June 27th 2019.
